— 4G Service now live in Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, other key towns
Onitsha, Anambra; 19th September, 2018: Airtel Nigeria today reaffirmed its positioning as a leading mobile Internet services provider as it announced the deployment of 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution Service) in Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi and other major cities and towns in Anambra State.
Airtel says the switch to an upgraded 4G network in Anambra will boost trade and commerce; empower entrepreneurs, improve productivity, enhance personal effectiveness as well as enable telecoms consumers in Anambra to connect to their dreams.
Speaking during a launch event at Soprom Hotel in Onitsha, on Wednesday, 19th September, Regional Operations Director – South Region, Dapo Dosunmu, who represented the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, said the 4G roll-out reaffirms Airtel’s commitment to empower more Nigerians, stimulate economic activities across all sectors as well as provide unfettered access to affordable and reliable mobile Internet services in Anambra.
“Today, we are unveiling our 4G service in Onitsha, Awka, Amawbia, Nkpor, Obosi, Ogidi, Ogbunike, Umuoji, Nsugbe, Onitsha and Nnewi. With this launch, we will power people, businesses and aid governance through technology.
“Specifically, our 4G launch in Onitsha will help boost commerce and also provide entrepreneurs a veritable platform to connect with more stakeholders,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke, commended Airtel Nigeria for modernizing its network infrastructure in Anambra State.
“This event calls for celebration as Airtel’s current upgrading and modernizing of its network infrastructure across manor cities has come into Onitsha, the major commercial city in Anambra State.
“It is my sincere hope that the Board and Management of Airtel will continue to be committed to the empowerment of Nigerians in general and Ndi Anambra in particular; advancing the telecommunications’ infrastructure that stimulates accelerated economic activities across all sectors as well as provide affordable and reliable mobile network to your teeming customers.”

Airtel prior to the Onitsha 4G launch had unveiled its 4G LTE services in Ibadan and Abuja earlier in the year.
The Exposition Event Set to Celebrate the Beautiful, One
The Exposition, For the Beautiful, One is the 2018 edition of the Exposition annual event which brings together art and culture lovers, and a crème of professionals into an ambience of Spoken Word Poetry, visual arts and music. The 2018 Exposition Event is set for Sunday 16th of December, 2018 at the 25 Moore Road, Yaba (Gerald Chukwuma Studios) by 5PM. Admittance is by book purchase.
This year’s Exposition event is an intimate culture picnic for friends and lovers of all ages which will serve as a meet and greet, as well as an experience that will make friends and like minds fraternize with people and brands. The event is curated by Beige and Crow and REZthaPoet (Adebola Afolabi), a prolific, Spoken Word poet, culture curator and author of Exposit (2015) Spoken Word album, the Beautiful, One, a poetry coffee book (2018),
REZthaPoet noted that “For the Beautiful, One edition will stimulate lovers and friends through the exploration of the intimate, sensual and powerful reading of the ‘Beautiful, One’ book”. The book is a collection of love poetry which engages existential questions on love, loss, lust in contemporary times. He also said that the event is “a conscious blend of visual art impressions, musical performances and Spoken Word poetry which promises to make it an unforgettable experience”.
For the Beautiful, One edition will also avail fans and friends of the poet the access to private conversations and autographs with the author on the new book.
The Exposition Event is an annual poetry, music and live performance event curated by REZthaPoet and Beige and Crow. The performance event will serve as an end-of-the-year culture picnic for art lovers, and professionals interested in networking a buoyant demography of people who value the arts. The first edition of Exposition, The Exposition, opened last year and it kept its promise to garner professionals, nerds, and artists in one space where felicity met friendship and where brands made quantifiable impressions on the people.
Heirs Holdings Signs $600 million Facility Deal with Afrexim Bank, to scale its Energy Investments
As a further demonstration of the African Export-Import Bank’s (“Afrexim”) mandate to facilitate the growth of intra-Africa trade and support the development of African businesses, Afrexim today, signed financing facilities totalling US$600 million with the Heirs Holdings Group, a pan-African proprietary investment holding company.
